The Lunatic Pauper’s Palace: Time Past, Anwyl Cooper-Willis. Wooden blocks are a graph of time spent in the hospital by the over 5,000 people admitted 1861 - 1900. The green blocks are those who left alive and in better shape than they arrived; the grey are those who died in the hospital. The paler the colour, the shorter the stay. Each block represents ten people. Keys to both graphs are in a pocket on the wall.
